Wind, Rain & Sleet at Night

It has been a VERY long time since I went shooting after work. There for a couple years I was heading up into the mountains every night (I get off work at 11:30pm). I would wonder around for a few hours, total around 3-4 miles, and come home to edit. I would hike trails along the bench, and shoot night images of the city below. It never got old (and I still love it even though it has been a year + since I did anything like that).

Tonight wasn’t up in the mountains (you’d be crazy to go up there in tennis shoes, shorts, and a light jacket with this weather). It was 31*, sleet, and a light wind here in town. Not the kind of weather I would want to experience up in the hills along the bench (it is always colder, windier (is that a word?), and really not good for tripods, clean lenses, and nice images). I don’t worry about my camera because Pentax has a great reputation for being great cameras for weather abuse. When I got finished tonight my camera looked a lot like a slush ball than a silver and black camera. My lens was getting really messed up (wet) so I called it a night.

I don’t have the brain tonight for much more writing, so I will dump my images down here and enjoy them if you do, if you don’t then click on my wayward soldier.

Those images are in order of clickity. You can see the lens get messier the longer I was out there. I forgot a lens rag, so these are how they are.

I also posted this on my Substack. Go check it out, there are a lot of different kinds of artists over there.
