Well… That’s it… Vacation over… Time to unpack (Already done), do laundry (Already started), apologize to the cats for abandoning them for a few days (We gave them cheese, they’re sleeping now), and rest before we head back to work (Jamie is already laying down and sleep breathing).
We got up and zipped out of the hotel with out anymore sight seeing. Filled up the rental car with gas ($6 a gallon – phuque that bull shit), dropped it off, and found our way to our gate inside. We were early (because if I’m on time, I’m late), so we had time to grab a bite of brunch (~$65 UGH!), and some coffee to help us finish waking up.
I played with the camera a little in the SFO terminal and here are the images. I had a lot of fun figuring out the best shutter speed to use so I could get “most” people pretty clearly, and anyone walking to be blurred (click to see them bigger). I started with the gate agent, then turned and tried it with my fellow passengers and people walking by.

While we waited, I tried to move around and see if any of the architecture or views were worth taking a picture of. There really wasn’t. It is kind of a boring airport at the gates.

I think this was the newest plane I’ve ever been on. The last one was nice, had some new features, but they didn’t work. This one it seemed all the things worked. I got to watch me some Talladega racing and Jamie got to watch “The Emperor’s New Groove”. Like our flight out to SFO from SLC we were in the last row. This time there wasn’t a window for us, and it was on the other side of the airplane. Would not recommend this row on the newer plane. The air vents were also weak sauce.

Finally home and I think SLC has one of the nicest airports I’ve used in a long time. The airport is very new, but I think they are more organized and there is a better flow to the passenger instructions are clearer.

Indy was there to scoop us up in the trusty old Crown Vic (She’s looking rough, I need to get her painted so bad).

We had such a fun time on our first vacation together. We already want to get some plans in place for our next one. There are a lot of places out there that would love to have our support, but I am a stickler for weather and some places are just too hot for my liking. We have already talked about San Diego (not my fave, but if the price is right, maybe an option), I’d love to visit Portland, Seattle, maybe if the days off worked out a trip to New England (Pennsylvania, Delaware, or someplace with some US history). I’d love to see the Liberty Bell, buildings used during the creation of the Constitution, Bill of Rights, or Declaration of Independence. New England I would want to see in the fall when the colors are exploding and the temperature are dropping. This trip to San Francisco was almost always ideal. The trip the Golden Gate Bridge was the only day we were too chilled to continue sight seeing. The only other time it got too chilly was when we were walking up to the hotel after our Slider Buns meal on the first night.
Happy to be home, and looking forward to our next vacation.
