Jade & Nathan’s Rehearsal Dinner (Night)

Jade & Nathan’s Rehearsal Dinner (Night)

We arrived late, just as my cousin Jana and my dad were headed home (She took a fun picture of us, I might steal it and post it here eventually). I spent the first hour or so walking around (I really don’t know anyone there, so it was mostly me and the kids enjoying the views). As the sun fell out of the sky, I noticed the views were amazing, and taking pictures at night is one of my favorite pastimes.

Once we got some food into the kids, I snagged my camera, a tripod, and started taking long exposures. Some of them were really amazing, and here they are.

The BIg Dipper above the tent.
The Big Dipper was hanging out perfectly solitary over the receiving tent. Had to snap a picture – this one is about a 30 second exposure. (Click to see full images).
An over view
A general overview of the wedding area (10 second exposure).

Off to the right of that overview image above, they set up a bunch of seating, and a fire pit. I snapped a couple pictures over there too (long exposure images – because night, and I didn’t want to POP everyone’s drunk ass with the flash 😉 ).

Once I was finished taking images of really blurry people, I walked around looking for nice compositions of the reservoir, reflections, stars, and all things best about night photography.

Finally, the view the bride and groom will have, only at night 😉 .

The bride and groom view.

I went searching for my kids after a while, and I found them. Swinging in hammocs, on their phones, chillin’ quietly.

Two kids hangin in hammocks for the night.

Saturday is the wedding, and it should be awesome. Great weather, lots of people (that part stresses me out just thinking about it, but this is a special occasion, that is how it works).

See you all Saturday night, or Sunday sometime depending on how long it takes me to edit, process, upload, and write the story.

Love you all,

~me
