Indy and me got to go holler at the Weber State University track and field team doing some shot put and Hammer Through. I think there were 4 teams there. Weber, Utah State, Utah Valley University & byu. I had never been to anything at the collegiate level, so it was all new to me. These were held at the Ice Sheet in Ogden. I’ve seen lots of hockey there, but never had any idea there was a half field football field there too. Weird, and eye opening.
I started by snapping a few images of the warm up. Still never got anything good (with out cropping in until the image was all noise). Here are the first of them.

I got to meet a few of Rachael’s friends. I’m shit with names, so .. Ask Indy or Rachel for details ..

If I get to go again, I’ll bring a lens better suited to this. I only had Indy’s 500mm (way too big), and my 85mm, not quite big enough. If it was outdoor, I could have tried to make the 500 work, but I think I’ll use one of my old 135mm lenses from my Pentax stash next time.
Here are a few more of everyone throwing rocks, and such.

Here’s a batch of Rachel. Also, never captured a good point showing her strength and technique. She was doing well until she wound her ankle up a little too hard. She hurt it the turn before her last, but it wasn’t going to let her keep going. She did make it to finals though, just couldn’t participate because her angle was angry.

Finally a few stragglers. Then we left for the Angry Goat for dinner and a few drinks to celebrate Indy’s 21st.

I took Indy to the Angry Goat for his 21st birthday. Dayton’s was spent in Vegas with his friends so I wasn’t there for that. Who knows what Charlotte and me will do, but hopefully my kids all have a good balance between responsibility and enjoying a libation if they choose.

We each tried a few drinks, he ended up a little more buzzed than he wanted so I drove us home (about 3 blocks). Nice time there, the waitress was helpful, and kept us topped off, and the food was “fine”.
Then we headed home, and ended out day. Here’s the straggler shots on the way out.

Pretty crazy having your kids grow up. Happy its happening, but it can be rough sometimes.
G’day till next time.
