Ogden’s Fall Farmer’s Market!

Today we drug ourselves from bed early (earlier than normally), chugged out coffee, and walked out of the house ready to explore the Farmer’s Market (and a couple other places). Of course I hauled my Pentax K-3 Mark iii, the stellar 28-105 full frame lens, and screwed on an adjustable ND filter to try and slow my shutter down a little on this very sunny day (spoiler, the ND filter was a garbage idea).

I snagged a few pictures of the construction going on near my house while we walked. These are the new Marshal White Community Center. Our old building had a bad swimming pool, and a lot of wasted space. This new one is MUCH bigger, and has a lot to offer the community. I’m really looking forward to visiting the place once it is open.

Some other “Construction” related pictures I took are here too. I don’t know the name of the place they’re building a few blocks up, but it is quite the contrast between the old stuff, and new (I like the old stuff).

We did stop to shop some other places first. We walked right through the market, to a store I was reminded about that has camera gear. Farrs Jewelers has cameras in the back. Not a “huge” selection, but they did have quite a few. I hand held some that I was interested in, but didn’t catch the bug hard enough to spend all my money yet. I did find a backpack to try out. Their prices aren’t too bad, and it was nice to both support a local company, and try things on before I bought them. My plan is to return when I’m seriously shopping for a Mirrorless camera (My beloved Pentax DSLR is really heavy).

We also went to the local plant store called “The Jungle Room“. Jamie is actually there now. She jumped in her hooptie after we got home and ran back to snag a plant she saw.

Then on our way back to the Farmer’s Market, we stopped at a local outdoor store called “Recreation Outlet” and found me a couple shirts, and a screw driver (random, I know). This place has the best “vibe” of any store we hit today. Hardwood floors, tons of camping, hiking, relaxing gear, and in the basement you have ultra outlet clearance stock.

There were a few dogs at this half sized Farmer’s Market but with the ND filter on my camera, focusing on their cute little eyes was next to impossible.

Since I always forget an image here or there, here are the remaining of them from today’s walk (~7,000 steps).

I’m going to go turn on the Xfinity race, make a sammich, and sit my butt down. Have a wonderful Autumn, and I can’t wait till spring!
