Uncle Richard’s Funeral

Over the weekend I headed up to my mother’s for my Uncle’s funeral. He is her oldest brother, and had been living at the Pocatello Veteran’s Home for a handful of years. Here are some of the images from the Davis Rose Mortuary.

Karen, and Gary had some pretty good stories of uncle Rich. Carl read a few pages of his history. The pastor sang “Sweet Caroline“.

After the service at Davis-Rose Mortuary we went to the Falls View Cemetery. It was a nice service, had the local American Legion do the salute and a pair of Honor Guard airmen came to handle the flag.

As if on cue, when the service concluded, a Mexican Wedding kicked off behind every one. It was a lot of fun to hear in a dark moment for a lot of the family. The Mariachi music was loud and happy.

Here are the “random” images I snapped for the fun of it.

For fun I drove Artemis up to Pocatello. Indy’s 1995 Ford Escort LX Station Wagon. He’s done a lot of work on it, and it did really well. Not a speedy car, but it was dependable and fun to take on the little road trip. Here are a few images of his little car.

Finally, the family pictures for fun and memories. Mendee was in goddess mode that day.

That does it. Another member of the family passed away, and more memories made with friend and family.

It’s easier to tell people how you feel after their gone, but its more helpful for them if you tell them “now”. ~me
